The Belmont Safe Schools Program was developed as a cooperative effort between the Belmont Police Dept. and the public and private schools within the City of Belmont. It is designed to ensure the safety of our children in the event of a school related emergency. The BRSSD has adopted The Big Five response protocols in conjunction with the San Mateo County Office of Education and local emergency responders.
At Central, we ask all of our families to prepare a Comfort Bag (snack, drink, family picture or small toy in a ziploc bag) for each of our students for the event of an emergency in which students are in the classroom for an extended time. Our school conducts regular emergency drills, including monthly evacuation/fire drills.
