Central PTA

Central Elementary is recognized as one of the Peninsula's finest public elementary schools.   Our involvement as a community of parents is a critical factor to ensure Central continues this standard of excellence. The Central PTA provides critical programs and resources that benefit every Central student. Your volunteer time and financial donations directly impact your child's classroom and school - immediately enriching the quality of your child's education. Thank you for supporting the Central PTA!

Welcome to Central!

Our school is so lucky to have such an active and involved community. Central's PTA is here to help nurture and grow that community, among students, parents, teachers and staff. If you have been on campus and seen the Green Team recycling lunch debris, the Art in Action team covered in pastels and paint, the Walking Track leaders cheering on students or the kids feeling proud in their Dolphin Spirit Wear - then you've seen our PTA in action. If your kids have come home talking about a field trip, a music lesson, new classroom books or science supplies - then they've felt the support of the PTA in their classrooms. And if you've had the pleasure of being on campus for the Dolphin Dash or Discovery Day, then you've seen the joy and excitement that come when our PTA volunteers and our Central community join together for the kids.

Our PTA is able to have such a positive impact in our school because of the hundreds of Central volunteers who give their time, talents, voices and love to our community. We ask that every Central family give what they are able, both financially and with their time. We thank you for joining us in supporting our dedicated teachers and staff, and helping make Central such an amazing learning environment for our kids.

If you have questions about PTA opportunities, if you're new to our school and want to receive information about the PTA, or if you have any feedback that you would like to share with the PTA, please send me an email.

We look forward to seeing you around campus. Go Dolphins!

- FOR NEW CENTRAL FAMILIES -

Welcome to Central! It’s not always easy starting at a new school; our PTA can help you to connect with your new community and feel welcomed. Our Annual Newcomer’s Tea (the second morning of school, 8:30 am in Dolphin Park) is a great time to come meet and greet, and to find out more about Central. We also hope you will join us for our PTA Association Meetings, beginning in September. Also - be sure to review our calendar, and to sign up for our eNewsletter, the Central Scoop (see below). We look forward to meeting you and welcoming you to the Central community!

WHY AND HOW TO DONATE

Central PTA supports every student at our school. In partnership with our school district and our education foundation, SchoolForce, we help to make sure that our kids receive an incredible education. Our annual PTA budget covers field trips, classroom supplies, teacher training and more. We ask for a donation of $150 per student; your contribution is completely voluntary, and you are not required to donate if you want to join the PTA. However, we hope that you will consider making a donation to help us budget for and provide many important opportunities for students here at Central.

Examples of PTA Programs at Central include:

- Teacher training & supplies

- Art Programs

- Vocal Music Programs

- Technology in classrooms

- Classroom materials

- Chrome Books

- Discovery Day

- Staff Development

- Hot Lunch Program

- Expanding libraries in classrooms

- Educational Assemblies & Field Trips

- Community Activities

- Parent Education

State funding does not provide sufficient resources to deliver the quality of education Central has historically provided.  PTA members support each of these programs and more, through their donations and through their many volunteer efforts in a variety of areas – in the classroom, as technology gurus, through running special events, and by organizing PTAs many special programs and services. We hope you will join us in building our community and enhancing all of our children’s educational experience. See our PTA volunteer page for more information on how to get involved!

HOW TO VOLUNTEER

Volunteers are the heart of our Central PTA; it is through over 14,000 annual volunteer hours that we make our programs go! We ask that each Central family volunteer in some way, each year. Please visit our PTA Volunteer Page for information about volunteer opportunities throughout the year, and to find ways to get involved at Central.

PTA MEETINGS
