Central Elementary is a vibrant, award-winning, educational community. This website is a resource for learning about and keeping up to date on what is going on at the school. Use the menu items above and at left to explore our site.

On November 19, 2007, we celebrated our selection as a National Blue Ribbon Winner for Excellence in Education. Central was one of only 24 schools which earned this honor in the state of California, out of a possible 120,000 public and private schools nationwide!

A number of city, school and regional representatives were on hand for the celebration including state Sen. Leland Yee, D-San Francisco/San Mateo, Cathy Wright, Belmont-Redwood Shores Elementary School District board president, trustees Jeni Benelli and Karen Clancy, newly elected trustee Catherine Bonnar, Mayor Coralin Feierbach, City Clerk Terri Cook, City Treasurer John Violet, newly elected councilmembers David Braunstein and Christine Wozniak, and County Superintendent Jean Holbrook.

Central was given a number of gifts to celebrate the moment including a resolution honoring the teachers and staff, a flag flown over Congress in honor of Central and the key to Belmont. Click here to view our photo gallery of the celebration.
