Central PTA Association Meeting Date Change
The Central PTA Association Meeting date has changed to Thursday, September 23, 2010 due to the school board meeting date conflict. Belmont-Redwood Shores School District will hold its September board meeting on Thurs,
September 16th, 7PM at the District Office.

Music Docent Needed!
Share your love of music with first graders! Central seeks a docent to teach music to first graders beginning in early October. No formal training in music pedagogy required. Docents need have only a working knowledge of basic music concepts and ability to use clapping, chanting, singing,
and listening to teach fundamentals of rhythm, tempo, and pitch.
The docent will teach the students to sing various songs, some to be performed at the annual Volunteer Appreciation Day and Spring Sing in May. The docent will teach three classes, one of which will include the first
graders from the split first-second grade class. Each class meets once a week for 30 minutes from October through May. In the past, docents have taught their classes, each 30 minutes long, back-to-back in a single afternoon. The docent will decide with the first-grade teachers the best
day for classes.
